Could crowdsourcing help spread the word about wait times in hospitals?

Wondering if you'd be interested in covering the medical situation in Montreal.

Experiencing the system is dreadful. For any condition, one can expect hours of waits in clinics and hospitals. As a determinant of health, this compounds stress and individuals will further suffer due to lost work opportunities.

The theory abounds that the system is being compromised to encourage people to use private clinics, and no one is really sure when private charges are acceptable, but in my experience even private services can be difficult to access.

I spoke to an individual who put together a system to allow people to be notified when they could see a practitioner in a clinic. Initially he tried to sell it, but then when he had no success he tried to give it away, but there was no interest. It seems people's time is really not valued, and there may be no examination into this issue.

In Ontario and other provinces, there are comprehensive tools to understand what facilities are available and what wait times are. I'm not aware of anything similar in Quebec.

I put together a basic way to monitor wait times in hospitals, although it needs repair after their system was changed. I believe this would be a very relevant way to engage people through a crowdsourced project to help improve a situation that harms the most disadvantaged and affects everyone.
