We all know Montrealers love to bicycle but did you know the city is renowned for its prime skateboarding spots?

So much so that Adidas Skateboarding decided to bring its entire skateboard crew to the city in September in order to shoot its riders doing what they do best.

Jess Weinstein heads global communication for Adidas action sports and was the man behind the video. He explains why Montreal, of all cities, was chosen for the shoot.

“We always select cities and countries where skateboarding and skate business is on the rise, and Canada overall is one of our best, growing markets,” Weinstein told OpenFile Montreal. “Our criteria for choosing a city to skate in and gather content is based first and foremost on the quality, variety and accessibility of spots. Next we look at if that city is ‘blown out’ or if it has places to skate that are still unseen to many skaters. We try to pick cities that have inspiring spots. Montreal definitely was one of those.”

Before the shoot, Adidas obtained permission for shooting locations such as the Montreal metro.
