Have a happy Halloween in Montreal

Happy Halloween!

Too old to trick or treat, or don’t have a young one to tag along with? Why not celebrate Halloween by going on Haunted Mountain, “a spooky walking tour up the slopes of Mount Royal.”

Organized by Fantômes Montréal Ghosts and led by actor and full time high school history teacher Donovan King, the 90 minute tour starts at the (apparently haunted) local watering hole Barfly and takes you up the mountain, with spooky history lessons told along the way. The tour starts at 8 p.m. tonight from Barfly (4062 St. Laurent Blvd.). Tickets cost $15. Email optatif@gmail.com to reserve a spot.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Halloween without a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show performed by a Montreal cast. Showing tonight at 8 p.m. and again at 11 p.m. at the Imperial Cinema (1432 Bleury), this interactive play, hosted by Plastik Patrik, has the audience dressing and standing up. Tickets cost $19.95 plus service charge at the door.

If that’s not for you, be another of the five million-plus people who have watched this video of a house in Riverside, California. That’s a lot of effort.
